The CAT D10 Dozer was developed due to a need to move larger quantities of earth in one go than the largest dozer at the time, the CAT D9 dozer. Due to its increased size and power, several key benefits exist for the D10 dozer over its competitors.

Due to an increase in power, developments were made to increase the fuel efficiency of the engine. Combined with improvements made to automatically choose the optimal gear and engine speed combination, the D10 dozer proves to be both a powerful and long-lasting dozer option, ensuring top performance over a longer service life, more productivity due to less refuelling and reliability due to decreased time spent on maintenance.

The D10 dozer is also designed to be comfortable over long periods. The cabin is designed to reduce noise levels to below 77dB and has automatic heating and air conditioning controls to maintain a consistent cabin temperature no matter the time of day. The cabin also has a wide panoramic view, benefitting from the intelligently designed body of the machine to enhance safety and productivity.
